Worked for our International Company component: Controlgear Instramac Rwanda LTDAssisted a great Company with a revolutionary New Power Project, called Kivu56, with a client, SPLK, who lead Rwanda into a greater and safer future by giving them the capacity to extract the potentially harmful gasses trapped in Lake Kivu, transport it to the shore where it will be purified ('sweetend') and compressed and used as fuel for the Power Plant. Controlgear Instramac Rwanda was responsible for a large portion of the Electrical and C&I scope of the project (especially for the Gas Extraction Barges and the Onshore Gas Plant) and procured, manufactures and shipped self-contained MV, LV, VSD, PLC and Transformer Sub-stations to Rwanda to be used Onshore, and on 4 Barges, to operate this great system.My Roles & Responsibilities as Site Planner for CGI Rwanda pertained the following: • Setting up and updating Contractual Schedules in Primevera, • Monitoring of Long Lead Procurement Items,• Site planning and managing of the scope and schedules, • Setting up Site Schedules and 2 Week Look-ahead Programs, • Compilation of Progress Reports and Daily Diaries, • Site Commercial assistance and compilation of any required back-up for potential claims, • Site Administration and Document ControllerAs for my Engineering skills - I broke out of my Civil box and learned ALOT more about electricity (MV, LV and Controls) than the bits I learned as a Civil Engineer at varsity. I also utilized my engineering skills of Project Management, Schedules, Monitoring, Controls and Communication to assist the Project in any way I can.In the end I also took over the Planning function for the Client, SPLK, and assisted them in monitoring the progress of the additional scope that was added in the last year of the Project.
