My love for language and communication started at a very young age. As a child I was already writing stories & poems and spending every free minute reading books of all kinds. The moment I realized it could be more than just a hobby, was at the age of 14 when I met a journalist for the first time. As he talked about his job, in my brain all boxes where getting checked. Not only the writing part was appealing to me, also the fact that it involved so much interferring with people, getting to know them, and write down their story. To study journalism became a life goal that day, although I still had to wait several frustrating years to get started.During my studies and in the years after finishing them, I discoverd that my interests where going further than 'just writing down the story'. I started to work in communications and saw how the perfect choice of words and sentences can reach people and move them to action. That's where my interest for the strategic part of the job got triggered. In those early years social media were also starting to boom, first as a private way to interact with other people, but soon to be followed by company's to use as a marketing tool with almost no limits. Visuals became more important and indispensable to catch the eye and stop the scrolling finger. Those developments pushed me to follow several courses to improve my graphic design skills. At first all this design possibilities gave me a headache, now Adobe Cloud feels like my second home.One of the main things to create texts and visuals, is to stay inspired. My current job at habicom is providing for that with an unlimited source of beautiful houses & homebuyers and -sellers with their own unic stories. Creating content based on this source for social media, blogs and articles & directing our WONEN magazine, makes me go work with a smile on my face every day.
