Excited to work with a dynamo team to supporting organizations who want to change their business models and innovate their services. I struck the Pivot Group in 2020 in order to support both big and small organizations across the country. I have an insatiable appetite to change the status quo in healthcare.I got my feet wet in the design world when I founded and led the Design Lab in Alberta Health Services in 2016. We had the privilege of designing healthcare solutions for humans across Alberta in all sectors of the health and care space.Before my design obsession, I launched and led the Surgical Quality Action Network (SQAN) in British Columbia through the BC Patient Safety and Quality Council. We supported 25 hospitals from 6 health authorities used the NSQIP program to improve surgical outcomes and transform care.I was one of the co-creator of the Safer Healthcare Now! Campaign launched in 2005 via Canadian Patient Safety Institute. This was the first national healthcare movement in Canadian healthcare. I led the Western Node representing the 4 western provinces with 350 front lines teams enrolled.My early days started with working in the ICU as a nurse and eventually worked in the non profit sector to improve the lives of marginalized and underserved adults in the downtown.

Teams can select which of the following topics they want to work on: 1) resident behaviour is getting worse 2) pain 3) and decreased mobility.This initiative will look at combining a traditional quality improvement methodology (Breakthrough series collaborative) with complex adaptive systems thinking. A leadership stream will run consecutive with the improvement strategy with emphasis on culture, adaptive leadership skills and learn about social movement. -

The team of the Western Node comprised of clinical faculty, Safety and Improvement advisor and a clinical lead.I was the "preventing surgical site infections" lead for the National Safer Healthcare Now! program with a focus to support a national faculty, compile latest evidence and guidelines and support teams to implement changes. -
