North East Mississippi Electric Power Association is an electric power cooperative serving parts of five counties and over 25,000 member/owners. Duties as the Manager of Member of Services include lending help and leadership to our customer services department while also serving as the government relations and economic development representative. My communication duties include working on corporate policies, employee directives and helping with all internal and external communications.

Instructor for Utilities throughout the Tennessee Valley. Currently, I am teaching two courses: Selling Utility Services and Dynamics of Change.

Provide advice and assistance to the CEO/General Manager on all matters pertaining to the general management, favorable positioning, and operation of the Cooperative. Provide leadership and counsel to the Coop's management team on all matters. Help foster internal communication to promote support for Coop mission and good morale. Help foster external relationships to promote the image and favorable position of the Coop. Continue working on Communications projects, Government relations, and Economic Development. Heavily involved with and leading fundraising efforts for local and national charities on behalf of the cooperative.

Research, produce, and write all internal and external communications for an electric power cooperative serving over 27,000 member/owners. Some of the publications under my care included writing an annual report, a monthly employee newsletter, and all correspondence with local and regional media. I was also the representative and liaison for the company when dealing with crisis communications. Some of these duties included writing press releases, radio ads, and handling media requests and interviews. My duties in economic development involved working with local companies to help them in their expansion efforts. It also included working with the Federal Government (Tennessee Valley Authority), as well as with local and regional economic developers. This relationship was formed to help attract businesses to our electric company service territory which covers parts of 9 counties in North Mississippi. I served as TVEPA's liaison and representative for negotiations with private and public companies. The effort helped create more jobs. It was a discreet position which required confidentiality and trust. The government relations duties included building relationships with local, state, regional, and nationally elected officials. I worked with statewide and national lobbyists to communicate with those elected officials. Most of the correspondence and meetings involved issues directly related to the electric power industry. Once again, confidentiality and trust were two of the main components of this duty.

I worked with some great people and traveled all over the country covering SEC sports. However, it was the day to day relationships and interactions with the viewers that I loved the most. What a blast to cap off my broadcasting career.

I loved my time in Georgia-Carolina. The people were great to work with and even better to live around. This was a great time in my life. I loved covering Super Bowls, World Series Games, High School and College athletics, and of course, the Masters.

This was my first job in television and I learned so much from my co-workers. I loved living in West Tennessee and am thankful for those formative years in the business.
