This PhD project aims at finding drug sensitivities for neuroblastoma by combining data of neuroblastoma tumors and in vitro models. Furthermore, this project aims to create new in vitro models to study neuroblastoma in more detail. In a new project within the ITCC-P4 partner consortium, we will compare tumoroids and patient-derived xenografts (PDX) as model systems and aim to build a connected repository for both in vitro and in vivo studies. We will examine correlations of drug sensitivities with specific neuroblastoma subtypes, different target expression levels or genomic aberrations.

In my 6-months internship at the Stam Group I seek for a novel and synergistic drug combination for MLL-rearranged AML in infants. This will be approached using various types of experiments and techniques, including combinatorial drug library screens on AML cell line models as well as primary MLL-rearranged AML patient samples, Western blot, qRT-PCR, RNA interference, and flow cytometry.
