Systems Engineer
CurrentDesigning, implementing, maintaining, migrating, and upgrading IT systems both on-premises and in the cloud, including the management of Windows Server environments. Supporting and updating Windows and SQL Servers, to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, while developing and enforcing security protocols to ensure system integrity, efficiency, and optimal performance.Working with end-users to provide technical support and training, and assessing new technologies for compatibility with existing systems.Core Competencies:• Vulnerability Management: Managing vulnerabilities across end-user computers, servers, and firewalls through a comprehensive patch management service.• Enterprise Server & SAN Deployment: Deploying and managing enterprise servers and SANs from leading vendors like HP and Dell, including experience with virtualization and server clusters (Hyper-V, VMware).• Networking Protocols: Deep understanding of standard networking protocols, including TCP/IP, IP addressing, subnetting, NAT, QoS, IPSec, SSL, FTP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, and ICMP.• Cloud Computing: Deployment, management, and auditing of cloud-based systems following best practices in cloud security.• System Monitoring: Monitoring IT systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation, focusing on minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.• Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, ensuring accurate records for all IT processes and systems.• M365 Backup & Protection: Implement multi-layered M365 backup and protection strategies using SaaS solutions.• M365 Services: Implementation and migration of M365 services, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity.• EUC & Device Management: End-user computing and device management, enhancing user experience and security.• Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative environment.
