During the product development phase of a new IC, the Test and Product Engineer (TPE), responsible for the definition of the industrial test strategy and methodology described in a test plan. Design for testability, test coverage and test costs are the main issues to be dealt with. Further responsibilities of the test engineer is in the development and release of test hardware and software on the industrial testers. Electrical characterization and evaluation of new ICs is also a part of his activities within the Cross-Functional Team with other members of the team.
