CurrentA culinary treat, a cultural fix, and a supper-club social, Eating Their Words offers attendees the World Premiere of three new plays written explicitly for their evening, coupled with the inherent theatricality of a one-of-a-kind meal inspired by the writers' work. The event's forum is the chef's restaurant. The intimate evening delivers these plays, set at a dinner table, an arm’s length away from audience members. Attendees surround the performance table, voyeuristically overhearing a “conversation” at a neighboring table. Following each play, set over a meal, the audience indulges in the course they just watched the actors experience. Each course is created by the chef, and accompanying cocktail pairings by the mixologist, after reading and interpreting the playwrights’ scripts. The company produces events in restaurants of note around Manhattan, monthly, and can be hired for private corporate or personal events. It is the only theatrical or culinary event of its kind.

WET Productions was founded in 1999 by Victoria Pettibone and Sasha Eden to produce media that challenges female stereotypes and advocates for equality. Throughout the past twelve years, WET has honored its mission by developing and producing numerous acclaimed theatrical productions, and has been praised by The New York Times as “independent enterprising young people doing polished professional work, the kind that bespeaks attention to detail and respect for craft". The company created and launched WET’s Risk Takers Series, a free city-wide media literacy and leadership program for teenage girls, ignited and/or furthered the careers of female playwrights, produced live events celebrating female talent, developed screenplays written by women, created a mentorship program for young women at the beginning of their professional careers, and created WET’s INKubator, a unique play and screenplay development program for women writers. For their work, Ms. Eden and Ms. Pettibone were recognized by The Utne Reader as two of “The 25 Visionaries Who Are Changing Your World”, in a list that included Julian Assange and Nelson Mandela. Since 1999, WET has set out to challenge the status quo, and solve the parity problem: the dearth of women-generated work produced in the theater and film industries. WET works diligently to discover and develop extraordinary female talent who are often passed over for productions due to their gender. WET imparts high-quality productions, and a proven track record of enhancing the longevity and impact of their careers.
