I have been an ELAR, Math, and Science instructional coach in an Improvement Required school where we were able to meet Texas standards in one school year. I was the only coach on my campus for two years prior to the campus adding an ELAR coach. To date, I am responsible for coaching Math teachers and am an integral part of our administrative team where I have the pleasure of working in an environment that focuses on student-centered instruction.

I was hired in 2000 to be the Reading Recovery teacher;however, I began teaching 2nd grade self-contained in the second six weeks where I remained for 5 years. I taught 4th and 5th grade ELAR for one year each. I then taught EC-5 Computer until the position was phased out after two years. Because of need, I returned to teach 2nd grade ELAR for two additional years and because of my success I was asked to teach 5th grade Math and Science where my success afforded me an opportunity to become an instructional coach
