Hello my name is Marlon, I am a senior at Boise State University pursuing a degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science. I am absolutely fascinated with human ability and performance. This passion was fostered from the age of 13, when I had my first experience exercising with Boise High Schools' football team. I remember being awestruck at the weights being lifted by the senior players and immediately fell in love with human performance. Since that time, I have acquired 11 yeas of weightlifting experience that is both Olympic and accessory (both of which I am a stickler about correct form!) This love ultimately led to my selection of Kinesiology as my major, which will provide me with the opportunity to work in a variety of settings. I hope to work in settings that are clinical, in terms of research of human performance, and also environments that are hands on by means of direct coaching of athletes at different levels of ability. My plans for the near future are to obtain my CSCS, and join a collegiate strength and conditioning program that will help me develop experience and further my knowledge of elite performance enhancing techniques that will translate to all aspects of athlete development. In the distant future, I can see myself pursuing a Masters in the Science of Kinesiology which will open more doors into researching human performance and acquiring a PhD to be apart of academia at the collegiate level.
