I regularly collaborate with senior management to advance equity objectives and represent the Department at public hearings, workshops, and regional and national forums. Additionally, I coordinate cross-system collaboration to tackle the complex challenges of promoting equity in public safety.A key focus of my work involves reviewing and updating policies to ensure the Department equitably serves Fairfax County's diverse residents. I work closely with Data Analytics, Strategy Management, Human Resources, Recruitment, Training, the Office of the Medical Director, and Local Union to embed best practices ensuring equitable throughout the Department's operations.I continuously research and adopt emerging practices to inform policy decisions, set performance measures, and drive improvements in outcomes. The program assists the residents to identify individual and family issues that contribute to their involvement with the court, the changes that need to be effected, and the resources that could be of assistance in this process. Develops program goals consistent with the agency objectives; monitors and insures compliance of state regulations as put forth by the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ); oversees provision of all services ensuring that best practice and evidence based methods are being employed, and updates and modifies program services and structure as needs arise. Oversees implementation of the nutrition and recreation programming. Monitors and ensures youth and parental compliance with court orders. Manages issues related to building maintenance, budget, safety, sanitation, and information technology. Hires new staff and supervises program and support personnel which include annual performance evaluations. Establishes and maintains relationships with other court staff and has knowledge of community resources to ensure the delivery of collaborative services. Regularly assesses program effectiveness through resident, parent and probation officer feedback and through the analysis of program statistics and current research on juvenile delinquency trends.
