Software ArchitectCoyote Logistics Jan 2018 - Feb 2020Chicago, Illinois, UsInvoicing Re-architecture - With most of the invoicing code split between VB.Net classes, SQL Server stored procedures and batch jobs, the process of reliably generating and delivering invoices was insufficient. Using the business events we published, we were able to re-architect the invoicing process around a set of autonomous services singularly responsible for generating and delivering invoices.Matches - Looking to modernize their core internal desktop software, we set out to research what choices we needed to make, including getting help from several design firms. After settling on what scenario offered the best ROI, we started developing POC's and concepts based on the vetted designs. Cisco UCCE/Finesse - With over 1 million calls coming into enterprise, it became important to give their employees additional context into the incoming call. UCCE offered us the opportunity to capture incoming call XMPP events, using these events we were able to show native Windows 10 Notifications offering our service reps vital information about that person or opportunity, in addition to integration with core desktop applications. Speaking - Presented and took questions on Event Publishing in autonomous services, offering insights into our intended road map and how we measured against that, detailing challenges and opportunities.Writing - Contributed to an internal micro-blog, topics included Autonomous Service Composition and the Outbox pattern, relating these critical topics to potent scenarios and well understood conditions.Workshop - Lead workshop on asynchronous workflow based Web API's and User Interface autonomy. Discussed techniques to keep UI's/Apps responsive and informed during long running processes, including the varying degrees to which you apply additional infrastructure. This lead to discussions on client/server acknowledgments and service choreography, orchestration and correlation. Continued on my resume... -

In addition to procuring Advanced Distributed Systems Design training for the team leads and senior developers, with a specific focus on distributed computing fallacies, Domain Driven Design (DDD) and Event Driven Architectures. Event Publishing - Created a service for the publication of meaningful business events, this included a ASP.Net Web API, NServiceBus and RabbitMQ. Once deployed, it opened the door for other core services to do important work in near real-time reliably.Durable Email - With so many implementations of sending SMTP messages, I created a service to encapsulate, enrich and make resilient, they way our applications and services sent SMTP based messages. This included a ASP.Net Web API, NServiceBus service, RabbitMQ and Razor for templates and formatting.Ping/Pong App - As an architectural sample, I created ping pong applications and services built using UWP, ASP.Net Web API, MSMQ, Rebus, MongoDB and SignalR.
