PhD "New advances in the diagnosis of diseases in marine mammals" As a PhD student I was involved in a marine mammals’ health project, under the direction of Prof. José Manuel Sánchez-Vizcaíno, head of the Animal Health Department of the Complutense University of Madrid, and Daniel García Párraga, veterinary chief of the Oceanogràfic of Valencia. My work included stranding assistance, necropsies performance and virology diagnosis of cetaceans stranded in the Mediterranean coast of the Region of Valencia (Spain) and participation in global evaluation of each clinical case (together with histopathology and bacteriology research teams). I enjoyed my work and learned a lot from my supervisors and partners. The main findings were presented in different international congresses (EAAM symposiums, IAAAM conferences) and also were published. Likewise, other interesting results will be published soon. Although my research work was mainly focused on pathology of marine mammals, I also worked in applications of thermography to the study of physiology and pathology of zoo and wild animals.
