During the school year and over the summer, I taught drivers education to high school students at Irondequoit, Brighton, and Fairport High Schools. My role was an in-car driving instructor and it supplemented my full-time position as a high school business teacher. I taught new drivers the rules of the road as well as the fundamentals of skillfull, safe driving techniques. While I have recently stopped teaching driver education to spend more time with my family, I still find great value in this job because driving is a skill that most people use on a daily basis.

I worked as a driver instructor position for the driver education program at Palmyra-Macedon High School through Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES. I taught new student drivers about the rules of the road and safe driving habits and techniques. I feel strongly about making our students and roads safer by putting great emphasis on the importance of not becoming a distracted driver.

I taught drivers education to new drivers in the Clyde-Savannah school district. My experience includes both classroom lectures as well as in-car lessons. I used differentiated instruction in both the classroom and the car. I am passionate about teaching drivers ed. because I know that driving is a life-skill that the students in the course will use and benefit from daily. I also know that it is a point of concern for many because of the dangers that exist, especially with new/young drivers; I am excited to help to teach new drivers proper techniques and habits in safe driving.Please note: This position ran for the 6 week course during the summer only.
