Profile bio

About Marnelli Canosa

I have always had a passion for teaching and helping others understand a difficult concept. I strive to reach that "ah-ha" moment with clients. Having majored in education, I have an in-depth understanding of how people learn and what are the best methods to use for specific learners. A pivotal opportunity as a Recreation Leader who serves children with disabilities broadened my perspective about learning and development, inspiring me to be inclusive and make adaptions to curriculum that are typically overlooked, but make all the difference for diverse populations. With technology and software constantly reinventing itself, I want to be apart of the change that makes teaching more accessible during a new digital era ushered in by the pandemic.Through instructional design, I want to incorporate my background in education with first-hand experience interacting with learners of differing abilities to contribute to programs that accelerate learning that works with learner's current skillset, whether they are a K-12, higher education, or corporate learner. I firmly believe that learning continues outside of the classroom, so to work on educational gamification programs, or theories behind digital applications that take advantage of latent learning would be an absolute dream. I am also passionate about diversity and inclusion in curriculum, so I emphasize various cultures and perspectives that helps the learner relate to the material, such as seeing an example or character that is relative to their identity, and they can connect novel concepts to their own experiences. As an instructional designer, I want to make curriculum that is inclusive, dynamic, and approachable, while maintaining informational accuracy and poise that can be held to a professional standard. I am currently seeking full-time positions instructional design, e-learning, and training & development at mission-driven organizations. My portfolio can be found here: bit.ly/mcanosa
