Conscientious public servant connecting through in-person and virtual outreach. Promoting public service, why I choose it, the purpose I live and feel by serving my community, the day to day business of it, and the legacy public servants leave for future generations. As a Workforce Outreach Coordinator at MnDOT I spread awareness of MnDOT's service to the traveling public through career exploration outreach. Relationships are the base jump to outreach collaboration.Public service is something I discovered as my passion. No one in my early life was a public servant. Discovery of this work was an arduous process of elimination, assessment, and self-awareness. In life I value relationships, variety, security, responsibility, accountability, and autonomy. My work values and style satisfy my desires for continuous learning, stability, and understanding of others' ambitions. Reading and listening to others' experiences helps me relate better to others and learn more about my community and the world. I enjoy harmony and looking for the common good. Using my innate curiosity, genuine interest in others, and authentic voice to connect and learn from others on this platform and in life.My pull to dig and know more draws me to speculate and ask questions. Tell me more! I want to hear more. Being a thinker, I'm keen to reflect and change as I learn. I'm adaptive and have learned to anticipate the next big change with curiosity, and mitigate fear. The information extracting part of my brain 🔥fires🔥 my drive to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in my current crusade or tour of duty. One of the abstract ideas that really helped me "buy in" to LinkedIn, was the "finite yet transformative mission assignments or “tours of duty” concept introduced by Reid Hoffman. After working with job seekers and employers for several years, this new way of work rang true to me. Observation and statistics show that lifetime positions are no longer the norm and the average person will evolve into and through several roles throughout their career. The learner in me is excited and eager for each change and chapter!
