Focused on prisoner rehabilitation through the development of training and skills-based programs in horticulture, maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment with a view to help them reintegrate with society on release. The role required coordination of multiple contractors across several large DOJ estates, ensuring they complied with site entry requirements and procurement processes. Safety and wellbeing of myself, the team and the prisoners required strict compliance with policy and procedure, I was also an elected Safety Representative and participated in a number of DOJ wide safety initiatives.

Coordination of a range of technology workshops for both private and education department stakeholders aimed at increasing knowledge around coding and robotics. The role required managing a schedule of events, coordination of the right team members to lead each session, and ensuring the availability and allocation of physical resources required for event setup. There was a strong focus on continual improvement of these events and working with clients to tailor the experience to their needs.

Responsible for the promotion and coordination of the use of Juniper’s Community Garden, overseeing the development, use and maintenance of the garden, ensuring it reached its full potential in the areas of communal food, sensory and therapy benefits for elderly visitors and those living with dementia.
