I am an LA-based Pediatric Hospitalist with nearly seven years of experience in pediatric hospital medicine and four years of experience as the Pediatric Ward Director at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.As an academic clinician educator and the Pediatric Ward Director at Harbor UCLA, I have the opportunity to blend my passions for advocacy, medical education, communication, quality improvement, and clinical care. I began setting the foundation for my career during my Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where I developed a strong foundation in academic medical education and the ability to apply the principles of adult learning theory, while utilizing direct communication and bidirectional feedback to best support the education of trainees. Additionally, through my coursework as a student in the Master of Public Health program at the University of Southern California, I have developed a deeper understanding of the U.S. healthcare system, the disparities that exist within the structure of the healthcare system, and the ways in which quality improvement efforts can be used to achieve better patient outcomes for vulnerable patient populations. I have enjoyed the opportunity to put all of these skills into practice as a pediatric hospitalist at Harbor UCLA and faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
