The Digital Licensee Coordinator (DLC) is the representative of digital music services in the new music licensing system in the United States created by the Music Modernization Act. Advising on all manner of music-business-related matters across Google's products and services, primarily focusing on YouTube. Responsible for negotiating, drafting, and advising in connection with YouTube’s complex web of music licensing partnerships with record labels, music publishers, and PROs, serving as a trusted partner and advisor to the music partnerships business unit, and providing guidance to cross-functional colleagues to ensure operational and contractual compliance.

Responsible for all aspects of the business and legal affairs of the Global Digital Business, including drafting and negotiating a wide variety of digital deals in connection with the distribution of Sony Music’s intellectual property assets via a wide array of innovative digital platforms, as well as providing strategic and legal advice on Sony Music’s rights in support of its various anti-piracy initiatives and rights disputes. Also responsible for working with Product Development and Original Content teams in doing software development, license-in, music publishing, monetization platform, co-production, and marketing/advertising deals. Other responsibilities include advising digital business colleagues and other company stakeholders, on a wide array of legal issues, compliance risks, and company policies & procedures.

Advised clients on strategic M&A and investment activities globally, including acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures/partnerships and equity investments. Extensive public and private M&A experience, including structuring, negotiating, and drafting principle agreements and coordinating with client personnel, as well as internal and external specialists. Also was responsible for drafting and reviewing various ancillary transaction documents, including instruments to form acquisition vehicles, closing certificates, schedules, board resolutions and opinion letters.

Counseled clients in technology related commercial and transactional matters including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating licensing agreements, service agreements and joint venture agreements. Researched and advised on copyright and data privacy policy issues.
