Hello! I have recently graduated from Iowa State University, and though my doctorate degree reads "General Chemistry" my specialization is in the inorganic chemistry of nanoparticles -- specifically the wet synthesis, characterization, and application of semiconductive nanoparticles. As such, I have over 5 years of experience with an array of characterization techniques, the most notable being x-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. I have received a $4000 fellowship and a $450 travel award recognizing my potential in R&D.Along with conducting research, I have concurrently taught general chemistry classes for most of my time here as ISU. I am currently a head teaching assistant for General Chemistry I (CHEM 177), and have been a head TA for General Chemistry II (178), the corresponding lab sections for both (177L and 178L), and College Chemistry (163). I received a $250 teaching excellence award early in my time at ISU recognizing my passion and skills communicating with students.On top of teaching and research, I have a history of involvement in the community and in my departments. From founding a student organization to mentoring scholars of many ages and backgrounds, I have gained experience socializing with people from all walks of life.
