"Study of the effect of a pro-inflammatory cytokine on human and mouse Haematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cells (HSPCs)"The goal of my project was to investigate the effect of a pro-inflammatory cytokine on human CD34+ cells from umbilical cord blood. During this traineeship:- I isolated human HSCs and blood progenitor cells from human cord blood;- I initiated and maintained short term and long term cultures of primary human and progenitor cells;- I performed several differentiation assays of human HSCs;- I used flow cytometry (LSR II) and FlowJo to analyse blood cells;- I used Vi-CELL Cell Viability Analyzer, an automatic cells counter;- I used STEMvision to analyse colonies derived from human and mouse HSPCs.

Research project: Study of the olive oil residues’ effect on the photosynthetic pigments and proteins of tobacco plants. Technical skills and competences: - protein extraction from plant cells- protein separation by SDS-PAGE and Electrophoresis 2-D- protein identification by Western Blot- separation of photosynthetic pigments by HPLC
