As a UC Holistic Reviewer, I evaluate undergraduate applications using a comprehensive review process that considers academic achievements, personal experiences, and extracurricular activities. By assessing each applicant within the context of their unique circumstances, I contribute to a fair and equitable selection process that aligns with the University of California's commitment to excellence and diversity.

Form strategic educational partnerships with departmental/campus staff, school site/district administrators, community members, non-profit organizations, local businesses, students, and parents in order to provide direct oversight of educational partnership efforts within the region and improve their effectiveness in building a college-going culture. Additionally, serve on campus, off-campus, and statewide committees to establish policies and procedures related to higher education and educational equity. The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) was created in 1976 to help more students meet the requirements to go to college, especially students who are the first in their families to go to college or who are considered socioeconomically disadvantaged.

Assisted with the management of the social and cultural adjustment of 30 student participants with the help of two student program assistants through the College of Biological Sciences and Office of the Provost, STEM Strategies. The Assistant Coordinator oversees the residential life aspect of the program while living in a residence hall with incoming transfer students. During the daytime, they provide logistical support to the Transfer Bridge staff and presenters, manage the participants’ attendance/access to (in-person and virtual) meetings, and provide basic advising and support to students on the transfer transition, identity-based matters, health, leadership development, etc.

Served as a daily chaperone and academic advisor to marginalized groups of high school students in the Sacramento and Vallejo area. Through the creation and facilitation of academic programming, students were able to reside and take courses on the UCD campus while being introduced to higher education.My transformative experience as a Summer Residential Advisor at UC Davis Upward Bound has been a cornerstone in shaping my dedication to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments. Serving as a Summer Residential Advisor at UC Davis Upward Bound, I had the privilege of creating a safe and nurturing space for first-generation, low-income high school students. Guiding them through the intricacies of higher education, I witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that exposure to university life can have on young minds. My role involved not only facilitating a cohesive learning environment but also fostering a sense of community and belonging among students. I took pride in creating an environment where each participant felt valued, heard, and supported in their educational aspirations. Through mentorship, workshops, and shared experiences, I aimed to instill confidence and empower these students to pursue their dreams.The richness of diversity within the Upward Bound community inspired me daily. Witnessing the resilience of these students, many of whom were the first in their families to pursue higher education, fueled my passion for making a meaningful impact in the realm of academia. During my internship, I had the privilege of working closely with 2nd and 4th-grade classrooms at North Davis Elementary. I took on the role of working one-on-one with students, providing personalized support to help them overcome academic challenges and thrive in their studies. Additionally, I facilitated small group learning sessions, creating an interactive and engaging environment that fostered collaboration and individual growth.Teachers at North Davis Elementary relied on me not only for academic support but also for effective classroom management. My ability to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere contributed to a conducive environment for both students and educators. I embraced the responsibility of being a reliable resource for both the teaching staff and the students, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
