A fervent teacher of English, Literature, Geography and Social Studies with a wealth of knowledge and skills spanning thirteen years as a classroom teacher and six among them as a leader. It is an undertaking with a lot of responsibility but also fulfilling especially seeing my students making great milestones in their learning journeys. I believe that every student is unique and capable of learning.I strive to acquaint myself with the emerging trends in teaching and learning so as to understand my students and guide them to reach their full potential, I also value teamwork and sharing good practices with colleagues. In my view, effective learning and teaching can only take place in a conducive environment that caters for both the physical and emotional well-being of the learners and the teacher. To make this possible, I involve the students in creating this desirable environment by establishing acceptable etiquette, conduct and practice in the classroom. I also appreciate and inculcate in the learners the value of diversity, upholding fairness and respecting other members of the class and school including property. Other than learning planned content, I encourage learners to be inquisitive and find meaning and purpose in the subject matter in relation to real life. I also foster good work ethics in the students and encourage them to individually own their learning by setting learning goals and evaluating these periodically. Peer learning is also valuable to me and so I promote collaboration among students.I believe that I have already touched the future because I am a teacher.
