About Marsha Bailey

Marsha Bailey is the Founder of Women’s Economic Ventures with over 30 years of experience in women’s business development and micro-lending. Under her leadership, WEV became nationally recognized for its innovative business education and consulting programs and its commitment to impact measurement.During her career, Marsha served as a member of the National Women’s Business Council. She has also served on the Alumni Council for UCSB’s Department of Communication Studies. She is a former board chair of The Association of Women's Business Centers, CAMEO, (the California Association for Microenterprise Opportunity), the Fund for Santa Barbara and Union Bank of California's Community Advisory Board. In 2017, Marsha was inducted into the Pacific Coast Business Times' Business Hall of Fame. She stepped down from full-time work at the end of 2020. She remains a consultant to WEV. Bailey earned her M.A.in Communication from UC Santa Barbara, and a B.A. from Michigan State University in Fine Art and Sociology. She is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional.
