I have been a faculty member in the Microbiology Department at the Univ. of North Carolina for 42 years. In 2011 I left the Department to pursue a translational research obsession. We have developed a novel patented affinity selection technology to support a mode of attack against pathogens. Initial goal was to attack bacterial pathogens, regardless of the pathogen’s antibiotic drug resistance status. Recently, we are applying this approach to control devastating crop pathogens, such as citrus greening, late blight and soybean cyst nematode.
