In proofing for book reprints at Summit University Press (SUP), I have demonstrated skill in finding multiple syntax errors or content clarifications needed in long-published books and other publications. For the last book I proofed, I recommended 70 edits with 55 approved by the head editor who said the other 15 would require approval by a committee. I have also transcribed and edited audio presentations for SUP. As a weekly newspaper reporter, I made my head editors' jobs easier by possessing self-editing skills.I loved news reporting more than any other work, but it didn't pay enough. I enjoyed reporting on city council meetings and other 'hard' news, getting to know and earn the trust of council members and other government employees and representatives on city, county and state levels by my accurate, detailed reports. As a recording clerk for Seattle Municipal Court's jail court for two years I became familiar with court proceedings and transcripts. Seattle University elected me to Alpha Sigma Nu, Jesuit universities national honor society based on academic achievement and community service experience.
