-Served as part of a field technician team responsible for sampling 40 program-selected sites throughout Northern California and Nevada.-Worked with other field technicians to implement all criteria of the A.I.M sampling protocol at every site visited.-Utilized the Line-Point Intercept method of vegetation sampling to establish an inventory of species, their abundance, and their relative coverage within the sample area. -Collected vegetation samples from field sites and identified unknown species from fresh and pressed plant samples.-Conducted soil analysis for texture, hydric features, rock fragments, and soil color in situ.-Performed water quality sampling in the field with YSI professional series meter as well as grab sampling. -Completed surveys of local hydrology, site influences, grazing, and disturbances.-Produced plot drawings for site conditions, features, and topography.-Navigated unimproved backcountry trails in a 4x4 vehicle to reach remote sample sites

- Served as a part of a three-person burn crew on multiple TNC, DNR, and USFS Rx burns where we were tasked with firing operations as well as holding fire breaks in key positions. - Worked in all weather conditions 40-60 hours a week to help TNC meet its conservation goals in the greater Northwest Georgia Region. - Maintained power equipment including chainsaws, portable pumps, and UTVs to bolster crew effectiveness on burn and prep days. - Completed S-212 Wildland Fire Chainsaws course with extensive field experience felling, bucking, and limbing trees for firebreak construction.

- Managed a group of four underclassmen workers on projects related to Longleaf Pine and American Chestnut- Delegated tasks to students and assigned tasking to students by necessity and time constraints on their schedules. - Worked with fellow student workers and faculty to collect and catalog American Chestnut genetic material through seed and pollen collection.- Helped develop techniques to improve the efficiency of small stem assays by streamlining the inoculation procedure while also reducing material waste.- Provided tailored care to promote the health of study species in field and greenhouse settings throughout all seasons- Completed both S-130 and S-190 Wildland Firefighting training courses from the National Wildfire Coordinating Group in order to participate in prescribed fires conducted by the land resources department

- Worked closely with Dr. Martin Cipollini and Noah Howie to complete tasks such as orchard maintenance and chemical application in harsh outdoor conditions.- Assisted senior members of the foundation in performing measurements of blight resistance as well as careful inoculations of select trees for research purposes.- Insured security of genetic backcrosses by hand pollinating specific trees with prepared pollen samples.

- Applied principles of backcountry trail construction to add more than 300 feet of tread onto a mountainous hiking track.- Accompanied two foresters through Philmont to learn ecological and conservation topics in the field.- Improved a natural spring-fed water source under the supervision of an adult ranger crew by incorporating rocks and metal fencing to protect the spring.
