As the Aeroshell and Composite Manufacturing Lead on the McMaster Solar Car Project I have been responsible for:• Developed the teams’ processes and equipment for building parts out of carbon fiber, standardizing the practice in an effi-cient cost-effective manner.• Prototyping and development of processes to manufacture honeycomb and foam composite panels to be used for ribs on the body panels and enclosures for electrical and battery boxes.• Researched and developed composite wet layup process, resin infusion process, mould design, and plug design.

In my first year at McMaster University I joined the McMaster Solar Car Project; a team focused on designing and building a solar powered EV from scratch to compete in the American Solar Car Challenge. On this team I have been responsible for:• Designing and validating the body of the car. Using Ansys Fluent I completed computational fluid dynamics simulations to estimate Drag Coefficient and Force, Lift Coefficient and Force and analyze our design for areas which would create drag. • Using Solidworks surface modelling, I converted the body of the car into 6 different plug designs which were then sent to our manufacturing partner to be CNC cut out of high density foam. • Manufacturing composite structural and body panels on a large scale.

I have been working on the McMaster Mars Rover Team, as an Electro-Mechanical Designer, where I help to design, build and test a Mars rover to compete at the University Rover Challenge. Worked on the design of a removable high voltage battery system, including a blind mate interface between the battery and the chassis. Researched and sourced components that work within our specifications for the Mars Rover.Designed water resistant enclosures and heat sinks for encoder boards, which are mounted on the robotic arm of the rover. Utilizing my knowledge of robotics, electrical design, and mechanical design I have been able to propose solutions and design feedback which has helped improve our overall design.

Responsible for designing mechanisms and subsystems of large packaging machinery projects. Utilizing knowledge of available manufacturing processes and resources to optimize designs. Coordinating with engineers to develop, test, and improve R&D projects. Create and release full design packages including BOM, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and layouts. Modify and update existing assemblies, parts, and drawings.

Responsible for leading the commissioning and assembly team, and training multiple employees on robot commissioning, mechanical servicing, electrical servicing, and troubleshooting. Developed training documentation for a variety of processes specific to the commissioning process. Design and manufacturing of custom energy supplies and robot control cabinets for customer projects.This position allowed me to develop my managerial skills, time managements, organization and resource allocation.

Applied sectionalizing techniques to divide complex systems into manageable parts in order to troubleshoot and resolve issues.- Delivered excellent customer service by providing direct support and guidance to customer inquiries and informed customers or work completion status.
