It is a professional indoor football league and the first sports league controlled by the fans. The inaugural season lasted 6 weeks with 4 regular season weeks, 1 playoff week, and a championship week. Delivering authentic, high energy football for the whole family at an affordable price, the XFL offered fast-paced games with fewer play stoppages and simpler rules. The league launched with eight teams, 45-man active rosters, and a 10-week regular season schedule, with a postseason consisting of two semifinal playoff games and a championship game.I managed league events from start (planning, budgeting, identifying venues) to finish (game days, training camp, events) including staff management and logistics. I built relationships, negotiated, and partnered with league departments (IT, Facilities, Operations, Team Head Coaches), stadium management, practice venues, local governments, and hotels. With new ownership in 2013 (and again in 2017), the Armada kicked off its first season in early 2015.For the first three years, I managed all game day operations including venue management, security, entertainment, and logistics, created and implemented SOPs, and negotiated complex stadium lease agreements. I partnered with game officials, city governments, visiting teams, and venue operators. In the final season, I was appointed by the Commissioner of the North American Soccer League (NASL) to lead the franchise through a period of ownership transition. I managed all the departments including Events, Sponsorship, Finance, Public Relations, Marketing, Soccer Operations, and Ticketing. It was backed by the National Football League (NFL), the largest league in the United States. Each season culminated with the World Bowl. The league's squads were predominantly assigned by NFL teams, who wanted these younger, developmental players to get additional game experience and coaching. I managed game day and football operations during each season for all 6 NFLE teams in 4 different countries and 6 cities, coordinated training camps in Atlanta, GA and Orlando, FL for 6 years, 6 football teams, and the League office (500 employees) onsite for 7 weeks, negotiated with civic leaders, stadium officials, hotels, entertainers, and other vendors, and served as the main NFLE liaison with TV, game scheduling, league equipment, game officials, and all football operations issues.Accomplishments include: -managed 7 World Bowl championship games from 2001-2007 in 5 cities and 3 countries, drawing 50K spectators for the final game-supervised marketing and ticketing operations as well as 100 World Bowl staff from 8 offices in Europe and U.S.-developed 5 new markets for American Football in Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg-organized 4 European American Football Junior Championships across 6 years each involving over 500 volunteers and 10K spectators-coordinated with youth departments in 10 countries and negotiated with civic leaders, youth hostels, and stadiums within a $1M budget for each tournament-appointed as the NFL’s official first contact to the 16 countries comprising the European Federation of American Football
