I was still able to get an approved budget within four months.• Simultaneously, I managed a billing/receivable software upgrade.• I improved the bottom line from a 5% net deficit to a 5% net gain through cost cutting measures and strict adherence to the budget. I also was able to do more with less (33% fewer staff), preparing monthly financials (on a cash and accrual basis), and weekly cash flow dashboards.

Continued with the merged company to prepare monthly financials for inclusion into the rolled-up 2007 financial statement results. Managed the workflow and prepared the schedules for the Weekly Reader portion of the subsequent three year audit. Worked ten months in the tax department preparing risk statements, valuation allowances and Federal returns. Worked on legal requirements and cash flows for bankruptcy reporting. Teamed with Big Four firm to create Sarbanes Oxley compliance controls documentation flowcharts. Assisted senior management and bankruptcy firm on requirements levied by the court to successfully emerge from bankruptcy. Prepared Quarterly Federal and State returns. Handled Sales and Use Tax returns, Commercial Rent Tax returns as well as FAS 109 and Fin 48 quarterly tax planning statements. Managed the Pension audit for WRC Media.
