About Lucinda Offer
I've always had an affinity for Mars. Since 2002, I have been directly involved and active with Humans to Mars advocacy and analog research. Positions included leading lobbying efforts in DC, PR Director, Senior Development Officer and Executive Director. Completed Crew 97 (January 2011) rotation at MDRS as NASA Tele-roboticist testing NASA/Google/Mars Society tele-operated exploration rover 'Sandstorm', as well as four NASA Science expeditions researching Mars and Titan analogues to Abu Dhabi (Mars and Titan), Australia (3.5 Bya stromatolites), Mojave (tardigrades) and New Zealand (geothermal vents). Backgrounds in Geology, Design and Science Communication. I combine my skills to teach the physical sciences: Physics, Earth, Space and Astronomy concepts using visual communication, inquiry based-learning and most importantly discrepant events. Currently in the UK working with young professionals in engineering, astrophysics and geophysics to bring science education, communication and outreach for human space exploration, both remotely and directly, to create future generations of space science explorers. Continuing my efforts with publishing Mars-oriented educational materials. First published in 2010. Also published in the A&G, Royal Astronomical Society's Astronomy and Geophysics Magazine.
