I am actively involved in project development, monitoring and reporting, including budget supervision for four different programmes managed within the new Department of Mobility Pathways and Inclusion. Particularly, I am focused in supporting the implementation of the Global Migration Media Academy (GMMA) - IOM’s flagship initiative to counter misinformation and xenophobia in media around the world while promoting accurate, diverse and balanced media reports about migration.

Supporting the Coordination and Capacity Development Unit, in the Department of Programme Support and Migration Management.

Supporting ECRE on the legislative discussions of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum within the Common European Asylum System, closely engaging with civil society to draft the recommendations to the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU (July – December 2023).

Writer and editor of the ELENA Weekly Legal Update on relevant developments in asylum law. I also provided legal support to ECRE member organizations and the European Legal Network on Asylum (ELENA), including on litigation activities through case assessments, legal research and drafting interventions. Finally, I assisted in the organization of the Advanced ELENA Course on International Protection in Riga, Latvia (2022).

As a legal trainee in the Legal and Operations Department of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) Barcelona, I carried out research on international and European law and their interaction with EMBL internal law and legal consultancy on national law application and related procedures. I also supported in the communication with the Spanish Ministry of EU and Foreign Affairs and local institutions, as well as in other tasks for the Senior Legal Advisor and the Legal and Operations team, such as drafting and filing legal documents and correspondence, or reviewing contracts.

I provided legal counselling to migrants and refugees, at the Colombian-Ecuadorian border on international protection procedures, regularization and visa application, and access to rights. Moreover, I assisted in the evaluation of priority cases to deliver emergency humanitarian aid and ex-post reporting. Finally, I support the livelihoods team in the creation and growth of small businesses and the organization of workshops.

Barcelona

As an intern in the Human Rights Coordination Area, I led the organization of a United Nations simulation and the coordination of the staff of the event. My role also required engagement with the local government, UN Associations from other countries, other civil society organizations, as well as with international academic institutions. During this time and the following year, I represented ANUE in UNYANET (International Youth Network of UN Associations) the ANUE's Youth officer. This allowed me to work on a project from Promoción Social in the Canary Islands focused on empowering young girls interested in diplomacy as a Model UN coach for high school students.
