- In charge on the on-site laboratory and laboratory technician. Perform routine laboratory sampling and analytical work to support plant performance optimisation. - Keeping monitoring and laboratory equipment operational through routine maintenance, calibration service and quality control checks etc.- Compare and analyse differences in lab data from on-site and external laboratories.- Implement the monthly environmental monitoring schedule including odour, air sampling, pest control and water quality.- Responsible for creating and maintaining departmental quality and safety documentation including operational procedures, risk assessments, COSHH assessments.- Prepare weekly and monthly summary reports on progress and problems.- Audit key operational processes that can impact on compliance and highlight issues and opportunities for improvement.- Manage performance of key supplier contracts and relationships.- Provide technical support to site operations and maintenance teams on environmental compliance matters and support in the resolution of Environmental incidents and complaints.- Assist Environmental & Compliance Manager in ensuring the environmental compliance of the facility with all applicable Consents (Environmental Permit, Planning Permission, Odour Management Plan, Pest Management Plan), and in organising external monitoring and in regulatory reporting.- Deputise for Environmental & Compliance Manager as required.- Adhere to safe working practice and procedures including and not limited to lockout, tag out, confined space and working at heights etc.- Arrange hazardous waste collection

- Analysis of solid samples collected from the facility, as input to the facility, samples from bio-stabilisation stages, advanced biofilters, SRF and aggregates. - Test of liquid samples as surface water, ammonium sulphate and leachate.- Update and write new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments (RAs)- Responsible for recording all the results, analysing the data and recording the trends - Liaise with the external laboratories for water, waste and air testing. - Carry out daily odour monitoring and investigate any nuisance complaints.- Make COSSH Assessments through Alcumus website- Weekly pets monitoring- Support the Environmental and Compliance Manager to ensure that the facility operates under the conditions determined in the permit.
