Business Practice Manager.

Responsible for all business/non-clinical activities at this 5,600 customers practice.

Reporting to the Practice Manager at this 15,500 patient, 33 staff practice, the main objective was to manage the £1.6m budget, monitoring cash flow and cash flow forecasting, managing the payroll and pensions, maximising income, controlling costs, undertaking purchasing activities, producing monthly invoices, managing the credit control and petty cash. The role extended to include facilities management duties, becoming the super-user for Vision and other surgery systems and supporting activities in relation to the Quality and Outcomes Framework.

- Established the billing, collection and credit control department for the launch of Sky TV in Colombia.- Set-up policies and procedures for the department, notably those for the production and distribution of invoices (50,000 per month) and credit control.- Prepared the department budget, accounts and financial management reports.- Developed innovative internet-based customer payment capability.- Line-managed, trained and developed 7 staff.- Trained and supported distributors throughout Colombia on the point of sale system and general company procedures in relation to billing and collection.

- Responsible for managing the billing and debt management department (20 staff, 3 sub-contractor organisations and 450,000 customers).- Introduced new handset technology for reading meters, electronic billing and invoice production which resulted in significant operational efficiencies, reduced errors, improved productivity and customer satisfaction.- Managed debt collecting and gas disconnection teams for Bogota.- Prepared department budget, accounts and financial reports.
