Phd Student

Copenhagen Area, Denmark

Sponsored by the Danish National Council (S.T.V.F), my Ph.D. study was carried out under thesupervision of the Dr. Tech. Kastern Bo Rasmussen. For this work, “The Parabolic Equation Method for outdoor sound propagation”, a mathematical model was developed for sound propagation in complex environments, based on the Parabolic Equation approximation used as prediction method for underwater propagation. This combination provided the possibility to combine the underwater propagation physics into the complex environment of the atmosphere. During my Ph.D I was a research visitor from May 1995 to December 1995 at Institute for Microstructural Sciences, Acoustical Department at the National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa. The visit was focused on improving the PE method to include turbulence and the effect of wind in the propagation.

Jan 1993 - Dec 1996

Research Scholar At The Environmental Acoustic Group

Copenhagen Area, Denmark

As a result of the collaboration between DELTA-LABEIN, I became a member of the Environmental Noise Group at DELTA. I participated in several projects under the common theme “Outdoor sound propagation”. These included “Prediction methods for environmental noise from industrial plants” “Noise exposure at San Sebastian Airport” “Influences of the topography on noise exposure from Aircraft” (Nato research project USA-Norway-Denmark)

Jan 1992 - Feb 1992

Research Scholar At The Environmental Acoustic Group

Bilbao

I was a member of the Acoustical Group for a year. Participation in acoustical projects: “Optimization in the input date of noise traffic model EMPA” “Evaluation of the noise exposure at Rontegui motorway” “Measurements of isolations in buildings”

Jan 1991 - Dec 1991

Research Scholar At Motion Estimation Group

Einhoven

I was a member of the Visual Communication System Group for one year. The main goal of the work was the optimization process for motion estimation for picture enhancement (signal processing). As a result of that research, my graduate work was presented at the Basque Country University, “Motion estimation for picture decoding”.
