When it comes to work, everyone knows "Marta gets stuff done". I work at a fast-pace (the reason why -below - will surprise you!), so here are 4 key things to know about me:1. I unusually fell into FMCG: I realised my Law degree would be useless whilst working on brand licensing. Sure, I was doing the boring bit, but I fell in love with the processes brands go through before they reach consumers.2. I LOVE data, but hate spreadsheets: IRI taught me that data is confusingly beautiful. I'm an analytical wiz with Brand and Category Insights, MMX and Econometrics. Yet, the bit I loved the most was telling my clients, "Next time [Ice Cream Brand X], run your media in the Winter". I worked hard on getting mountains of data to a single sentence. It's some of my proudest work with Nestle, Unilever, Tennents, P&G and Waitrose.3. I like being at the centre of new business challenges: I worked with AMAZING media, creative agencies and leading FMCG brands, especially as Marketing was turning digital. But I’m not complacent. And as marketers start to look at sustainability, I’ve decided to formalise my marketing knowledge (finally!) and get a Diploma in Sustainable Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.4. I'm a big fan of trying new things, and tackling new challenges: Reckitt has been the best school I've been to. From starting in Media, moving to E-commerce in March 2020 to work on re-branding Durex (the best/worst career move I’ve done…) to bringing new business ideas into 25+ markets with Gaviscon. I'm great at leading cross-functional teams towards 1 single goal. I love new ideas, and I know how to put them in practice - no matter how difficult they are. Sure, I have the traditional background of a Brand Manager, looking into In-Market and influencing stakeholders. But I like to do it with flare, adding in my unusual background with Digital Media and Brand to ensure our brands are ahead of competitors.5. I work at a fast-pace because I'm a slow long-distance swimmer. By the time the 9am meeting rolls in, I've spent 2 hours debating, thinking and looking at the issues we need to tackle and strategising potential solutions. Swimming brings me clarity, both personally and at work. You think it's fast, but really, it comes from the calmest and most meditative place of my life.
