As the Co-Founder of Cascarones Por La Vida I have seen the folkloric art of Mexican Confetti eggs touch many in the community. The action of making these eggs with various community to assist families affected by HIV/AIDS has been a for-filling one. Art centers for youth and seniors as well as public and privates schools have shared art as philanthropy as well as conveying the message of AIDS awareness and unconditional love.

I taught art to kindergarten, first grade and third grade over a period of fifteen years at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. Teaching art in the lower school gave me insight to early child development in the arts. My concerns have always been the development of core hand and eye coordination, and ability to learning basic techniques to apply to their work. Teaching lower school enriched my experience as an artist. It was the next level of experience after my seventeen years of teaching preschool land middle school students art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The ability to share contemporary art as well as see how they manifest art concepts and materials in the early years always intrigues, and inspires me.

As an artist I also taught classes to youths from pre-kindergarten to middle school. Through the education department I also work with various institutions in the Philadelphia area. Working in the museum offered me insight in sharing art with the public and incorporating the work into a project based study of a work of art.Outside of teaching I also helped oversee the after school art club that later became the Delphi Art Club sponsored by Reliance Insurance Company.I later served in various committees in the education department f such as initiatives for Tesoros/Treasures/Tesouros: The Arts in Latin America, 1492-1820 and the Mexican Art Teaching Poster Set.
