About Marta Trueb

Immunology has been my passion since I was in school, and therefore I pursued degree in Biological sciences. I graduated with First Class Honours in Immunology at University of Edinburgh ( in 2011) and decided to continue my adventure with science by entering PhD programme. My doctoral thesis, completed at University of Edinburgh in 2016, was focused on investigating interactions between B and T cells in the context of infection and immunisation. After graduation I started a post-doctoral position focused on studying T cell responses in cancer and inflammation. I became fascinated by translational aspect of cancer immunology, and decided to focus my work on patient material. I have joined University Hospital Basel in 2018 to investigate mechanisms of immune response in primary cancer tissue. This position involved collaboration with industry partners (such as Roche Innovation Centre Zurich and Beyondspring) to validate pre-clinical mode of action of novel drug candidates, This sparked my interest in drug developmenet, and in 2021 I have joined Numab Therapeutics as a Group Leader.
