The Italian Public Real Estate Agency is responsible for the management, rationalization and redevelopment of the State’s real estate assets. In the field of Real Estate I assist the Agency in several working activities related to the management, maintenance and development of the State properties:• Updating and implementation of the Real Estate Management System database relating to technical data managed; • Supervisory activities with on-site inspections and survey of the State properties, with drafting technical documents relating to the management of the buildings and development of technical-valuation documents; • Checks on the conservative state of buildings and equipments, with evaluation of corrective, predictive and preventive maintenance, and necessary works to adaptation to standards;• Projects to enhance real estate development properties and heritage buildings (potential sale, acquisition or leasing on a long-term basis) by private negotiation or call for public tender.In the field of Energy Efficiency I prepare energy audits and energy performance certificates for residential and non-residential buildings, aimed at planning specific energy qualification works designed to improve the energy efficiency of the State Property and to reduce the energy consumption.

The Facilities and Maintenance Unit is responsible for overseeing the construction, acquisition, provision and maintenance of all buildings and offices of the ITC-ILO (large compound of over 100,000 sqm with 21 buildings) and for the efficient provision and management of all related internal goods and services. During the internship I:• Assisted the Unit in a wide range of facilities management projects including renovations, predictive maintenance and safety management;• Participated in the tender committee for drafting the call for tender documents and consequent analysis of the proposals for the contracting of renovation works of a Campus Pavilion;• Updated the due diligence building inventory of all technical assets and the building plans and drawings;• Contributed to the implementation of the Energy consumption monitoring;• Contributed to the implementation of the environmental strategy and environmental audit;• Collected campus-wide data on greenhouse gas emissions for the UNEP managed global database, and prepared reports on environmental issues.
