My name is Marta Bertran Ferrer and I am a 26 years old distributed computing engineer. I have a degree in telematics engineering from La Salle Universitat Ramon Llull. I did my master's degree in Cloud and network infrastructures at Kunlinga Tekniska Högskolan in Stockholm and at Aalto University in Helsinki, and for the last two years I have been working and doing my PhD at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, together with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Currently, I am part of the computing Grid team for the CERN LHC ALICE experiment.The science and nature duality has marked my life. I am curious, always eager to learn new things. I am passionate about languages (I speak five languages, among which Chinese) and I am enthusiastic about the contact with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Besides, I have a passion for animals, I love horses and I enjoy exploring and getting lost in the mountains.In 2021, I won the Dona TIC award which the Catalan government awards to women who have excelled in the world of information technology. It was a great opportunity to raise awareness of the reality of girls in STEM. I would love to spread my passion for science and technology to young girls, aiming for a more equal future and for consolidating female leadership.
