I worked on a PhD project which I later converted into an MSc by Research in order to move to the private sector and work as a patent attorney.The project was funded by SINAPSE and Canon Medical Research Europe. My objective was to apply advanced image analysis techniques on CT angiography/perfusion scans to develop an automated collaterals scoring system for acute stroke.These two years of PhD allowed me to improve my time/project management skills and gain a lot of experience in academic writing. I have learnt Python programming and the basics of machine learning. As part of my PhD project I carried out a systematic review of collaterals scoring methods which involved filtering over 15000 papers and extrapolating data from hundreds of them. I have become familiar with the medical imaging software 3D Slicer and learnt how to create scripts to add extensions to it.In my first PhD year I was awarded £845 by the College of MVLS to attend the DeepLearn2017 summer school in Bilbao, Spain. During the second year I successfully applied for a PECRE funding and was awarded £5000 for a 3-month research exchange at the Cumming School of Medicine in Calgary, Canada.

I helped secondary and high school students with Physics and Maths homework as well as prepared them for their exams. My students were all struggling with these subjects and it was very rewarding to see them improve and pass their tests successfully during the time I tutored them.
