I’m a brand strategist and visual designer who thrives at the intersection of strategy and design. My work revolves around exploring big questions, distilling complex ideas, and translating them into something that’s not only digestible and shareable but also beautiful.I believe in the power of design—to make communications more effective, drive common understanding, move people viscerally, help ideas stick, and inspire action. Beyond Penrose, I collaborate with entrepreneurs and business leaders to evolve their brand’s visual identity or create new ones from scratch. Previously, I was a Design Director at IDEO where human-centered design and innovation lived at the heart of every project. I've had the privilege of working with big brands, bright thinkers, and stellar teams over the years—working together to create high-impact work. While I love getting into the flow of design work, I also love sharing the power of design with others. Senior Design LeadIdeo Jan 2018 - Dec 2018San Francisco, California, UsLed projects and multidisciplinary teams, supported clients through the design thinking process, developed design content and strategy, and demonstrated craft excellence.HIGHLIGHTSWorked with the UAE Government (Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Food Security, and Ministry of Education) to develop a strategy for transforming the mindsets of Emirati youth to be more creative and curious with food. Our team designed the strategic foundation and visual expression for a national, kid-led movement rooted in UAE beliefs including the movement’s values, key opportunity areas for design, and a range of concepts to engage kids at home, at school, and beyond.Worked with Stone Barns Agricultural Center + Blue Hill restaurant to articulate a unified vision to become the R&D lab for an ecological food culture.Led the project and team that developed the brand for RightRice including positioning, values, personality, visual identity, packaging, website and more—designed for consumers’ needs.Worked with a national business & financial software company’s tech team to support cultural transformation efforts through prototyping and design.Spoke at the Invisible Talks design conference and as a panelist on Stanford D. Smucker Company as they worked to adopt a human-centered and design-led approach to innovation. Developed the in-home product experience and innovation pipeline for an American multinational coffee brand. Used qualitative and quantitative research to identify key opportunities that fit both consumer needs and brand credibility.Created a vision for the retail experience and future product portfolio of a Latin-inspired coffee brand. Brought the vision to life through taste-like food and beverage prototypes, environmental renderings, packaging prototypes, and audio-visual experiential storytelling.Developed the brand and experience vision for Stonemill Matcha—a San Francisco-based Kyoto-inspired cafe including brand positioning and personality, key consumer touchpoints, menu concept, and go-to-market name and logo design.Designed the go-to-market brand, restaurant experience, and retail packaging for dosa by DOSA — a restaurant brand in Oakland, CA that introduces more people to Indian culture through cuisine.Inspired by the brand’s purpose, created a flexible visual identity for a Canadian commercial real estate company. -
