I joined Global Maritime, a worldwide company in the Oil & Gas and maritime sector, with the aim of work in the design of largest accommodation projects and contribute with fresh and creative ideas due my architectural background and previous experience in the field. As an Architectural designer I have been deeply involved in the early stage of the designs such as Jack ups, Flotation units, semisubmersible rigs, etc. I have designed general arrangement and accommodation layout drawings, that complies with rules and regulations ( SOLAS, Marpol, LMC etc), I also liaise and worked with marine and structural engineers making sure all the disciplines were been taking into account in the layout design. Moreover, I have been drafting structural and detail drawings for class approval in Autocad and Nupas ( 2D & 3D naval software). Along with the above tasks I took the opportunity to enhance my skills in 3d modelling. Using Inventor I have designed parametric models such accommodation, machinery and deck equipment and also I built up new modelling techniques such a skeletal modelling. On the creative design side I develop my expertise doing renders and animations using 3ds Max and Vray, for clients ( litigations or marine operations and risk management) and marketing purposes like brochures or vessel presentation including ‘Fly-Through’ animation. My placement as an engineer at MD&ES enabled me to work on a wide variety of projects such tugs, fishing vessels and dredges. My responsibilities as an engineer were among others:• Creating proposals and design of the general arrangement for a new Beam Trawler fishing vessel and new concept of a cutter suction dredger. • Developing drawings of accommodation and machinery spaces following suppliers recommendations.• Foundation and construction drawings for client approval.• 3D Visualisations with Rhino and presentations for marketing purposes. • Following up client’s requirements and standards.• Checking third party information and project documentation to ensure that these are in line with building specification and rules and regulations.

Whilst at KEL Architects I worked mainly on residential projects with challenging budget, I collaborated in all project phases from initial client contact and presentation through conceptual design, production of contract documents, development of interiors, finishes and specifications.
