Marta Pentecost Email and Phone Number
In my current position, I spend about 40% of my time doing developmental editing for various titles in a large swath of college science markets. I spend another 40% of my time managing our editorial and production team in annually publishing five to ten laboratory manuals, which vary in length from 100 to 900 pages. The remaining 20% of my time is spent on acquisitions and special projects.I began in publishing as a sales representative and learned the value of needs assessment in making sales and developing profitable projects. I consistently did well in my sales territory and developed a new rep training manual before my move into the editorial department. After becoming Associate Editor, I built infrastructure for the CustomLab Program to accommodate an increased number of projects. I look forward to new challenges and opportunities in my career, including writing and doing developmental editing in new areas!
