As Managing Director, I demonstrated my entrepreneurial spirit, creative problem-solving skills, and ability to build and lead high-performing teams.At LanguageSitter®, we developed and implemented an innovative language learning method that fundamentally differed from the approaches used by other language-training providers. By leveraging the concept of natural language learning, we offered a flexible lesson schedule and learning environment that enabled professionals to learn at their own pace, with individualized content and personal coaching.From the company's humble beginnings in my living room with just 4 language trainers and a limited budget, I successfully helped secure an investment and a new partner within a year, which allowed us to scale the operation more quickly. As a result, LanguageSitter® grew to over 100 highly-qualified language trainers and attracted an impressive list of prestigious business and corporate clients.I was responsible for setting up all the company's processes, developing the business model, handling sales and marketing, recruiting top talent, and managing the team and company. The impact of LanguageSitter® on the language education landscape was transformative, elevating the standards of language learning and setting a new benchmark for excellence.

As the Chief Operating Officer at GEA College, I was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of the organization. This encompassed coordinating and leading teams across multiple departments to ensure the seamless functioning of the company. Working closely with the CEO and other executive team members, I ensured that company objectives were met and developed growth and expansion strategies.My role demanded establishing and managing business processes while devising and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals. Collaborating with the Marketing and Business Development Department, I helped identifiy and secure new business opportunities and implemented long-term strategies. Additionally, I engaged with various stakeholders, attended industry and networking events to promote the organization's brand and further its agenda.

As a seasoned member of AmCham Slovenia with extensive experience in its Young Platform initiatives, I made the decision to join the team as the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) in order to drive the development and enhancement of internal processes while overseeing projects aimed at providing AmCham's members, partners, and employees with the best possible experience. This encompassed a range of critical areas such as online presence, B2B relationships, marketing and communications, recruiting, and project quality.In addition to my core responsibilities as CXO, I also took on the challenge of leading the sales and marketing efforts of AmCham Slovenia, which included streamlining processes, refining quotes, and developing a strategic approach to membership acquisition. A key area of focus during this time was the implementation of custom features within the Salesforce system, which resulted in more efficient management of service sales and new member acquisition and retention.Beyond my CXO and sales/marketing roles, I also led and participated in numerous high-profile projects, including the development of the AmCham Exchange initiative focused on sharing best practices between entrepreneurs and corporations. I also spearheaded the popular AmCham Business Leaders Book Club and played a key role in the establishment of the Business Leader of the Year Award. Additionally, I served as an active member of the AmChams in Europe Network and even led one of its thematic groups, while also dedicating my time and expertise to the AmCham Mentor program.

As the Leader of the ACE Membership Group, a thematic group that unites 46 AmChams from 44 countries, I was tasked with leading a best practice community focused on the crucial topic of membership. With a membership roster of approximately 25 active executives, including Membership and Corporate Engagement Managers, Comms and Community Managers, and other top-level executives from a diverse range of AmChams, my responsibilities included shaping meeting agendas, coordinating meetings, and expertly guiding discussions to ensure productive outcomes. By leveraging my expertise and leadership skills, I successfully helped to build a robust, engaged membership community that thrived on shared best practices and new ideas.

I co-founded Jezikovnik, a professional platform for language educators, translators, interpreters, proofreaders, and other language experts. In this role, I led a team of four companies, including my own company, LanguageSitter®, in the development and launch of the platform. Additionally, I played a key role in organizing events, delivering lectures, and driving the strategic direction of the program.

Over the course of nearly 15 years, I honed my skills in TV and film production, holding various roles including Assistant Property Master, Extras Casting Director, Production Assistant, Second Assistant Director, and eventually, First Assistant Director and Production Manager.I consistently led teams of up to 60 people, ensuring that all work on and off set was coordinated efficiently and to the highest standards. My expertise extended to project preparation and planning, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.During my time with RTV Slovenija, Slovenia's national broadcaster, as well as privately owned production companies such as Casablanca, Bas Production, and Arkadena, I worked on a wide range of projects spanning commercials, TV series, shorts, and feature films. Notable titles include Vrtičkarji, Lilly's Story, Daleč je smrt, Kajmak in marmelada, and Življenja Tomaža Kajzerja.As a result of my work in the industry, I have developed a sharp attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities with ease. My collaborative approach, coupled with a strong work ethic, ensures that all projects are delivered to the highest quality, on schedule, and within budget.

As Head of ŠOUVIZIJA, I spearheaded the creation of Slovenia's premier student web television service. My first assignment was to lead the planning and execution of this ambitious project from the ground up. This included overseeing program and production planning and development, financials, purchasing of all technical equipment, and recruiting a team of over 60 talented individuals to bring our vision to life.In addition, I was instrumental in developing and designing the webpage and video platform, collaborating with an outside agency to ensure a seamless user experience. As a leader, I was also responsible for staff training and mentoring, designing and developing all internal processes, and overseeing the successful launch of the platform.Following the successful launch of ŠOUVIZIJA, I was responsible for managing the work of the 60+ team members. In this capacity, I demonstrated my expertise in production and program planning, financial planning, promotion and marketing, and new business development. With my strategic approach, I was able to drive growth, ensuring the platform's success.

This included identifying new opportunities to promote the organization and its projects, developing innovative strategies for building brand awareness, and leveraging the marketing tools and techniques at our disposal to reach our target audiences. Our team was able to engage with stakeholders in new and meaningful ways, and build lasting relationships with partners and sponsors. As General Manager of the Slovenian House in Brussels, Belgium, I was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of this multifunctional space. This included managing a team of staff, ensuring smooth operations, managing finances, event planning and management, marketing and promotion, and public relations.Our primary goal at the Slovenian House was to promote Slovenian business, culture, art, and tourism. To achieve this, I developed and implemented strategies that were designed to drive growth and increase awareness of our offerings. This involved working closely with our team to identify new opportunities, building relationships with stakeholders, and developing effective marketing and promotion strategies.

As the Founder, Director, and Selector of the International Student Film and Video Festival FILOFEST, I successfully led a team of over 20 professionals and managed an additional 50+ festival volunteers. My role included strategic planning and execution of the festival's program, overseeing the film selection process, financial planning and management, as well as promoting the festival through various marketing and public relations activities. I was responsible for managing external partnerships, communicating with various stakeholders, and coordinating the selection of the festival jury. In its second year, FILOFEST showcased over 100 films during its 5-day run, attracting nearly 5,000 visitors and viewers.

As Vice Dean Student at a faculty with 8k+ students, I was a key member of the leadership team responsible for enhancing the overall student experience. During my two-term tenure, I worked diligently to create a supportive and conducive environment for students, ensuring their academic and personal success through my strategic planning and implementation of policies and programs.
