Taking responsibility for monthly management accounts and reporting, completion of VAT returns and the provision of ad hoc analysis and additional support for the transitional period, I was able to ensure that the accounts were accurate and in a good position to transfer to a new finance system (from COINS to ORACLE).

The role split into three main areas:Monthly Accounting:Responsible for the process, accounting and reporting of operational costs. I worked closely with the CFO to ensure timely and accurate monthly accounts. Following the implementation of a shared services team, based overseas, I was the key contact and worked with the Operations Director and the transactional accounting team to identify and drive areas of improvement and development. As the compliance lead I owned the Financial Control Framework and Risk Register. I worked with individuals throughout the business to achieve Financial Compliance through self assessment and internal audit/reporting.Financial Lead for Direct to Pharmacy business model. This required close contact with 4 external Distribution agents to ensure a smooth financial process.As PPRS (Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Scheme) reporting lead, I was the contact for the Department of Health pricing team and was required to interpret and report on data for the Department of Health, understanding and identifying / mitigating risk areas.The key achievements were:- Simplification of a complex reporting process for PPRS which resulted in more clear and timely reporting to the Department of Health- Implementation of a new Financial Control tool which resulted in higher quality outputs and efficiencies- Continuous improvement for both finance and non-finance functions
