Binnen de afdeling Real Estate Services heb ik als projectmanager veel projecten gerealiseerd op het gebied van grote verhuizingen en/of multi-disciplinaire verbouwingen. Dit betrof projecten binnen alsook buiten de hoofdvestiging in Venlo. Naast als projectmanager verantwoordelijk te zijn voor het hele huisvestingstraject op zowel bouwkundig, elektrotechnisch en werktuigbouwkundig terrein, heb ik bij Océ mijn kennis mogen verbreden in de nevenfunctie van legionella-coördinator. De druk op werkbegrotingen heb ik constant ervaren als een extra stimulans om processen en werkwijzen nog verder te optimaliseren om daarmee efficiënter te werken. Uiteraard mét behoud van alle ambitieuze kwaliteitsmaatstaven.

Verantwoordelijk voor alle calculaties (offertes) en engineeringswerkzaamheden (berekeningen en tekeningen) die destijds binnen het 105 werknemers tellende bedrijf gemaakt werden. Onze afdeling bestond destijds uit 15 interne en externe medewerkers. In deze functie was ik ook lid van het MT. Met gepaste trots kijk ik terug hoe we als team enorme stappen hebben gemaakt inzake gestandaardiseerd en efficiënt werken. Tevens was ik actief lid van het innovatie-overleg. Hier zijn we erin geslaagd om de multidisciplinaire toepasbaarheid van bestaande producten en diensten te vergroten, opdat Kersten Retail haar positie als marktleider bleef behouden.

Gestart in 2003 was het een extra stimulans dat mijn ondernemersplan al in het tweede kwartaal van dit opstartjaar werd beloond met de Startende Ondernemerprijs van de KvK. In de jaren daarna is het volgende gerealiseerd:• Omzetgroei van € 300.000,- naar € 2.000.000,-;• Een gerealiseerde bruto-winstmarge van 46%;• Werknemersgroei van 3 FTE naar 13 FTE.Een combinatie van onverwachte privéomstandigheden met grote impact en de opkomende kredietcrisis hebben mij destijds het besluit doen nemen om met de onderneming te stoppen.
