Martha Berkvens is a landscape architect and project manager whose keen eye for detailed design and creativity has been recognized with a multitude of industry awards. Adept at developing beautiful landscapes that are also functional, cost effective and easily maintained, she joined RKLA in 1984. Today, Martha works closely with clients and project teams, ensuring that the landscape plan seamlessly integrates with the architectural and engineering components of each project. From initial concept and drawings to site construction, Martha makes sure every project meets RKLA’s high standards.Martha has played a leading role in the design of many large-scale projects including hospital complexes, school campuses, recreation centres/parks, residential developments and industrial parks. Her particular area of expertise is in developing sustainable landscape solutions for LEED projects – a talent that has earned her Platinum and Gold Certifications for many of her projects.
