Demonstrated history of producing top results in my field of microbiology, with over seven years of experience in laboratory work. I am highly skilled at Molecular Cloning and genetics, i.e., vector expression, primer design, inverse PCR, PCR, RNA pulldowns, Western Blot, recombinant DNA, qRT-PCR. I apply molecular biology, bioinformatics and proteomics tools to study global regulatory circuits, cell to cell communications, horizontal gene transfer, and the infection process. I received my Masters and my Ph.D. in Biochemistry from The National Autonomous University of Mexico where I graduated with Honors.I am currently a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Oral Biology. I am researching the pathogenic bacteria Fusobacterium nucleatum (the leading cause of bad breath) and how it correlates with Colon cancer. In my leadership capacity with my lab, I review and correct scientific manuscripts; also I train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
