Martha McElroy, PA-C, is the Clinical Director of Patient Activation for ShareMD Connect. As a physician associate with more than a decade of clinical expertise, she brings with her an invaluable patient-centric knowledge and perspective on patient needs. Before joining ShareMD, Martha was the founder of a digital marketing firm, a role which allowed her to expand her experience in patient education digital marketing programs. In her current role at ShareMD, she led the creation of ShareMD’s Nurse Education Team that provides proactive patient engagement and condition-specific education by highly-trained registered nurses to motivate and support patients in taking the next step in their healthcare journey. She spearheaded the development of multiple experience-focused products aimed at improving the patient journey such as ShareMD’s Pulse assessment that provides healthcare systems visibility into their patient scheduling experience as well as identifying barriers to new patient entry and ShareMD’s Provider Tool that provides individuals with volume-based data and quality metrics to help find a provider that fits their needs.She is a certified physician associate in Georgia starting off in emergency medicine at Emory Healthcare and then transitioned to practicing family medicine at a local nonprofit clinic. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Associates. Martha earned her Master of Medical Science from Mercer University – College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University. She is also a United States Army veteran and served on active duty as a chemical officer for the 3-7th Cavalry Squadron at Ft. Stewart, GA.
